Canal Street Life Drawing at the Staib
Outreach of all kinds was important at the Staib Gallery, not only within the commercial gallery community, but beyond it as well. One experiment took place over several months of evenings in 1992 when the gallery hosted the Canal Street School's Summer Drawing at the Philippe Staib Gallery, organized with a member of the faculty of the New York Studio School.
Taking place during the gallery's down time in August, it exposed the gallery to a new audience, at the same time affording an opportunity to discover new talent. |
